Description:

In the project „TelliBox“ an innovative loading unit, the MegaSwapBox, for intermodal transport on road, rail, inland and short-range waterway is developed. Additional to that, an adaptive container chassis for road haulage is developed.

The superior aim is to counteract the increase in freight traffic by ideal usage of the different modes of transport in their combination in order to allocate transport from road to rail, inland and shortrange waterways. The MegaSwapBox combines the advantage of containers, swap trailers and mega trailers. It is stackable, the interior height is 3 m, the length 45 feet and the cargo capacity 100 cubic meter . The MegaSwapBox’ sides can be opened, this guarantees an efficient and safe handling and furthermore it can be used on existing road, rail and water networks.

The project TelliBox develops prototypes, which are tested on real freight routes. The experiences of the project partners from research, car and body manufacturers as well as from forwarding industry joint in a customer-oriented approach.
