Within the project „Cloud Logistic“, funded by the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Energie, Bauen, Wohnen und Verkehr des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (Ministry of Economics, Energy, Building, Living and Traffic of NRW) and the European Union, innovative logistic concepts and business models for freight cooperations with part loads are developed. Aim of the project “Cloud Logistic” is the foundation of an innovative freight cooperation to maximize the efficiency of part loads and to strengthen the competitiveness of smaller and medium sized road transport companies. The project started on the 1st of August in 2011 and with a run time of 27 months. The project is coordinated by the Institute of Information Management in Mechanical Engineering of the RWTH University with project partners being the Institute for Management Cybernetics e.V., the Hintzen Logistics GmbH and the itRessort GmbH.
